Y'know I don't like to get too political on anyone but I have to type out what I found out the other day. Also, it's rare that I use the F word so use caution whilst reading.
I was talking to a lady at my day job (the job that pays for the "toys") and she was mentioning that her kid was taking Sex Ed at school. When I asked what grade he was in, I nearly fell over when I heard her answer.
"Grade 6".
Grade 6. I couldn't believe it. What kind of fuck-up, know-nothings teach their kids Sex Education at Grade 6? I asked if it was the school and it turns out it was the Government of Ontario that put that in the curriculum. Now the Ontario Government for the last, I don't know how many years, have been royally fucking up, well, almost everything they get their hands on. And get this, originally they wanted to introduce Sex Ed at Grade 3. Grade fucking 3. Unbelievable.
Maybe that's where Dalton McGuinty mentality is. Dalton's the premier of Ontario for all you fine folks in the States. This is a province where you have to hide packs of cigarettes in a store but your grade school kids can learn how to give blow jobs. I can't wait to see the teen pregnancy rates in the next few years. Keep Sex Ed in high school where it belongs, especially since the Age of Consent is 14.
The reason, and this is pretty lame, is that kids are sexually active in Grade School. I'm sure some are. It was like that when I was in Grade School. There were maybe 5. And they were ridiculed and called Sluts and nobody really associated with them. So I'm guessing is that more than a few MPP's kids are sluts. That's pretty fair to say. It does get old changing laws every time it suits some MPP's family member.
I know the government scans Blogs looking for conspiracy theories and all the other paranoia, so all you "Liberal" MPPs out there, I know you wouldn't know what to do if you guys actually came up with a good idea, but give your heads a shake and wake the fuck up and stop being so useless.

Good Long Weekend
Normally, I like to take my long weekends and make them recording weekends but I couldn't do that this year. But, it all worked out.
Friday, Pete and I played our first gig as a duo at the Tecumseh Roadhouse and I'll tell you what, that was the easiest gig I've ever done. And the time slot was the sweet'ner - 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Sign me up. Home by 10:30 and happy. Good start to the weekend. We're back there on June the 11th.
Saturday, the whole band went to play at a party. Usually I belly-ache about parties with valid reasons but this one was pretty good. When you have to stay over night, you know it was a good one.
Sunday was a big day of rest, and Monday was even more restful. Just resting up for another "playing" weekend. Friday at the Sandbar and Saturday at Lefty's Downstairs. I hope they leave the DJ at home on the Saturday. Nothing's worse than hearing dance music in between a rock band's sets.
And that should take us up to June's updates. See you next month.

A Black Sabbath indeed
I guess it takes a lot for me to update my Blog but this is a special entry.
You probably may know (or may not) that Ronnie James Dio passed away yesterday and that really is sad news. It truly was a Black Sabbath on the 16th. I loved Dio. Dio's been the background soundtrack for most of my life anyways and was one of those few people I really would have loved to have met. Also it was a real treat seeing him the last couple of times with Heaven & Hell. He kept up his vocal chops whereas other ex-Black Sabbath members haven't. At least he went out on top.
So tonight I'll be putting on Rainbow Live in Germany and I'll be enjoying Stargazer in all its glory.
Btw: the best comment I've heard so far is: "Brett Michael lives and Ronnie James Dio dies...there is no God."
At least for me, since January, I've managed to finish up the new CD Gets Scared and have it available at CD Baby (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/koval10 ). This is the first CD to have the new drums on it. Also, I'm almost done the next CD; I'd say about 70% complete. And I ordered an Ovation online. And lastly, the website hit its 11th Anniversary this month. Always something going on.
